Paying for your boat trip is simple: a small deposit online when you book, and the rest on the day, before you step on board. This page explains exactly what we accept, when each payment happens, and what protects you along the way.
The short version
- 30% deposit online when you book, by card or digital wallet
- 70% balance on the day, before departure, by card, wallet, or cash
- All prices are in euro (EUR) and include Greek VAT where applicable
- We never see or store your card number
- Booked and confirmed only once your deposit has gone through
Step 1: the deposit, when you book
Every boat and every tour on this site is booked online in advance. When you choose your boat, date, and time slot, the booking system asks for a 30% deposit to confirm the reservation and take that boat off the calendar for everyone else.
We accept:
| Method | Details |
|---|---|
| Visa | Credit and debit |
| Mastercard | Credit and debit |
| Apple Pay | On iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch |
| Google Wallet | On Android and Chrome |
Payments are processed securely by Revolut, Viva Payments, and Stripe, three regulated European payment providers. Which one handles your payment depends on the method you choose at checkout. Whichever it is, your card details go directly into the provider’s secure environment. They never pass through our own systems, and we never see or store your full card number.
Your booking is confirmed only when the deposit has been processed and you have received our confirmation email. If you close the browser mid-payment, or the payment is declined, the slot is not held.
Step 2: the balance, on the day
The remaining 70% is paid at our base in Paleokastritsa, before departure. Please arrive with enough time to settle it without rushing your trip.
We accept:
- Visa and Mastercard, on our card terminal
- Apple Pay and Google Wallet, contactless on the same terminal
- Cash in euro, at our base
One thing to know about cash. Under Greek law, retail payments of 500 euro or more must be made by electronic means, not in cash. This is a legal obligation on both sides, and the penalties fall on the customer, so if your balance reaches 500 euro or more, please plan to pay by card or wallet. For smaller balances, cash is perfectly fine.
We do not accept cheques or cryptocurrency. If you would prefer to pay the balance in advance by bank transfer, write to us at seascapeboatrental@gmail.com and we will send you the details. [CONFIRM whether you want to offer bank transfer]
Security
- The whole site and the booking system run over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
- Card payments are handled by Revolut, Viva Payments, and Stripe, which are PCI DSS compliant and regulated in the European Union.
- 3-D Secure (Verified by Visa, Mastercard Identity Check) applies to online card payments, so your bank may ask you to approve the payment in your banking app. This is normal and it protects you.
- We store only what we need to run your booking: your name, contact details, trip details, and a payment reference. Never your card number.
For the full picture of what we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy.
Prices, currency, and extra charges
- All prices are shown in euro (EUR).
- We add no booking fee, no card surcharge, and no service charge. The price you see is the price you pay.
- If your card is issued outside the eurozone, your own bank may apply a currency conversion or foreign transaction fee. That charge comes from your bank, not from us, and we have no control over it.
- If your card is offered a conversion to your home currency at the moment of payment, known as dynamic currency conversion, you will almost always get a better rate by choosing to be charged in euro.
Receipts and invoices
You receive a payment confirmation by email for the deposit, and a legal receipt for the balance at our base.
If you need a company invoice (ฯฮนฮผฮฟฮปฯฮณฮนฮฟ) rather than a retail receipt, tell us before you pay the balance and send us the company name, address, activity, VAT number (ฮฮฆฮ), and tax office (ฮฮฮฅ). We cannot convert a receipt into an invoice after it has been issued.
If a payment does not go through
Online payments are declined for ordinary reasons: an expired card, a daily online limit, a bank blocking a foreign transaction, or a 3-D Secure approval that timed out.
If that happens:
- Check that your card details and billing address are correct.
- Try a different card, or Apple Pay or Google Wallet.
- If your bank blocked the payment, a quick approval in your banking app usually solves it.
- Still stuck? Email seascapeboatrental@gmail.com or call +30 698 170 6369 and we will help you complete the booking.
Sometimes a declined payment still shows as a pending amount on your statement. That is an authorisation hold, not a charge, and your bank releases it automatically within a few working days.
Refunds
Refunds are always paid back to the original payment method, within 14 days of us accepting a cancellation. A cash balance is refunded in cash or by bank transfer, whichever suits you.
When each situation applies, and how much comes back, is set out in full on our Cancellation & Refund Policy page. In short: cancel more than 48 hours ahead and your deposit comes back in full, and if we cancel for weather or safety, you choose between a new date and a complete refund.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I pay only 30% online? Because there is no reason to hold your whole holiday budget for weeks. The deposit confirms the reservation, the balance is settled on the day, and if we cancel for weather you get both back.
Can I pay everything online in advance? Yes, if you prefer to arrive with nothing left to settle. Email us at seascapeboatrental@gmail.com after booking and we will send you a secure payment link for the balance.
Is my card charged straight away? Yes, the 30% deposit is charged at the moment of booking. Nothing further is taken from your card automatically, and the balance is paid in person on the day.
Can somebody else pay the balance? Yes, as long as they pay in person at our base. For refunds, though, the money always goes back to the card that made the original payment, so it is simpler if one person handles both.
Do you take American Express or Diners? Not at the moment. We accept Visa and Mastercard, plus Apple Pay and Google Wallet, which usually covers cards from any bank.
Is it safe to pay on your website? Yes. Payments are processed by Revolut, Viva Payments, and Stripe on their own secure systems, protected by 3-D Secure. Your card details never reach us.
